September 6 is the launch date of the Huawei Mate 50 series, and the company is gearing up to stun the smartphone industry. As this launch event draws closer we are getting more information on the device such as its camera. Now, leaks are revealing that the coming Mate series will launch with a 50MP main camera sensor.

This leak is courtesy of Digital Chat Station, who took to his Weibo page to share this. According to his information, the sensor is the Sony IMX766 and will feature on all models in this coming series. From previous leaks, we understand that this series will hold four models and the 50MP sensor will feature on all four models.

Supporting this Sony IMX766 50MP main camera sensor will be a telephoto lens, which might be a Sony IMX688 and OV64B OmniVision sensor. Asides from the sensors that the devices in this series will hold, there is no more information on this device. But, we know that the branding on the cameras will be Huawei’s in-house XMAGE which will help improve the camera abilities of the Huawei Mate 50 series.
