The epidemic of wearing a mask has become a normal protective measure for people, and major mobile phone manufacturers have also adapted the mask mode for the face recognition feature.

According to KUAN user @XiXi Katarina, Huawei Mate 50 Pro is testing version 3.0.0.150 of HarmonyOS, which will bring the “mask recognition” feature.

As you can see in the image, when Mate 50 Pro users turn on ‘mask recognition’, the device will be authenticated by eye features and will need to look at the screen when doing so.

In addition, version 3.0.0.150 of HarmonyOS provides some stability improvements for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro features a notch display and a front-facing 3D depth-sensing camera with high accuracy in face recognition. It’s not clear how well it works with the mask on, so you can wait for the wide push of HarmonyOS 3.0.0.150 to experience it.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro has a notch display, supports Huawei’s own XMAGE imaging technology and features a 50MP main camera with variable aperture. In addition, Huawei has used Kunlun glass on the 6.74-inch OLED, the first in the industry to receive the Swiss SGS 5-star drop resistance certification, and the entire device is up to 10 times more resistant to drops and falls than ordinary glass.
