HTC October revenue of NT$306 million, down 12.5% year-over-year

HTC’s October revenue was NT$306 million (about RMB 69.462 million), down about 34 percent sequentially and 12.5 percent year-over-year, according to Taiwan’s Central News Agency.

In the first 10 months of this year, HTC’s cumulative revenue was NT$3.499 billion (about RMB 794 million), down about 17 percent from NT$4.215 billion (about RMB 957 million) in the same period last year.

HTC’s global vice president and general manager of the Asia Pacific region, Huang Zhao Ying, recently said that as technology becomes more sophisticated, coupled with more and more applications begin to appear, the current hardware volume has reached 10 million units, the VR industry is expected to enter a golden growth period in the next three years.

In addition, HTC’s third quarter revenue was NT$1.08 billion (approximately RMB 245 million), up 7 percent sequentially and down 19.9 percent year-over-year, with operating gross margin rising to 39.4 percent from 39.2 percent in the second quarter.
