Recently some Pixel phone users found that their phones power consumption too fast, and some even said that the battery life was directly cut in half. After investigation, it turns out that the problem was caused by a newer version of the Google app.
Google has confirmed the issue and said it has rolled out a server-side fix. The solution doesn’t require users to update any apps or systems and will take effect automatically as long as they are connected to the network. Google Inc. said, “We rolled out a fix soon after we became aware of the problem, and affected users should see their devices return to normal behavior. This fix does not require an update to the app.”
It was previously reported that the issue mainly affected Pixel 6 and 7 series phones, but also some other Android devices.
