Google Chrome has the highest number of vulnerabilities, according to a report released by Atlas VPN on Wednesday. As of 2022, 303 vulnerabilities have been found in the browser, bringing the cumulative number of vulnerabilities to 3,159. These numbers are from the VulDB database, which covers the period from Jan. 1 to Oct. 5, 2022.

Although the National Day holiday has just begun, new vulnerabilities have been discovered in Google Chrome in just five days. The most recent include CVE-2022-3318, CVE-2022-3314, CVE-2022-3311, CVE-2022-3309 and CVE-2022-3307.

The CVE program tracks security vulnerabilities and exploits them across multiple platforms. The database does not yet list details of these flaws, but Atlas VPN says they can cause memory corruption on computers. Users can fix these issues by updating to Google Chrome version 106.0.5249.61.

Mozilla’s Firefox browser ranks second in vulnerabilities, with 117. As of Oct. 5, Microsoft Edge had 103 vulnerabilities, a 61 percent increase over all of 2021. Overall, it has had 806 vulnerabilities since its release.

Next is Safari, which has some of the lowest levels of vulnerabilities. For example, in the first three quarters of 2022, it had 26 vulnerabilities, for a cumulative total of 1,139 vulnerabilities since launch. Meanwhile, the Opera browser has no documented vulnerabilities as of 2022, with a total of 344 vulnerabilities.
