After the Zotac GeForce RTX 4090 Amp Extreme was revealed, @wnxod shared another spy shot of the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC box from Baidu @graphiccardbar. From the front with the same printed text as Soetech, its credibility is still quite high. The rendered pattern on the back of the box also reveals a three-slot, three-fan WindForce 3X cooler.

The box also lists some of the official features of the RTX 4090, including 24GB of GDDR6X memory, Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), Ray Tracing (RT), Reflex and Studio, complemented by a Windforce cooler, OC design and a four-year warranty.

For IO, the card offers a standard 3 DP + 1 HDMI interface. The perforated design of the breathable baffle is only two rows high, but the overall height of the cooler reaches three slots. Interestingly, the three fans are able to run in alternating patterns to maximize airflow and cooling.

The cooler design, @ghost_motley adds, looks almost identical to the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Gaming model. The PCB is not full-length, making it easier for one of the fans to push airflow through the cooling fins and skeletonized backplate.

Spec-wise, the RTX 4090 enables 128 of the 144 SM groups / 16384 CUDA cores. The full-blooded version of the GPU comes with 96MB L2 cache / 384 ROP grid units, but the RTX 4090 will obviously be lower.

GPU main frequency has not been determined, but with TSMC 4N process, it is expected to increase from 2.0 to 3.0 GHz. In terms of memory, the RTX 4090 is expected to be paired with 384-bit @ 24GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X particles with a bandwidth of up to 1TB/s (comparable to the RTX 3090 Ti).

The nominal TBP power consumption is said to be 450W (TGP power consumption may be lower), with a single 16-pin connector power supply (theoretical cap of 600W), and the RTX 4090 may also offer a non-public SKU design of over 500W like the RTX 3090 Ti.

Finally, Nvidia may announce the RTX 40 series cards at GTC 2022 later this month. The RTX 4090 is expected to be available on October 22, while the RTX 4080 / 4070 will be a little later.
