Developers support Apple’s Dynamic Island design and have developed games for iPhone 14 Pro

In the latest iPhone 14 Pro series, Apple has presented a clever “island” design that makes good use of the original “exclamation point” shaped hole punch area, thus turning a disadvantage into an advantage in one fell swoop and winning praise from countless fans.

To better leverage this interaction design, Apple will naturally allow third-party developers to adapt it using its “Dynamic Island,” which could include a range of games and streaming apps that could bring “Dynamic Island”-related designs.

Now, Kriss Smolka, developer of apps like WaterMinder and HabitMinder, today shared a simple demo of the “Island” game based on the classic game Pong.

In the demo, players can use the top “island” square and the slider at the bottom of the game to collide with the ball to make it bounce up, which makes full use of the top “island” area, so as to “turn waste into treasure “.

Smolka said the game “turned out great,” but there are some lagging issues that need to be addressed. One user asked if the game took advantage of Apple’s API, and he replied that he had hard-coded it entirely on his own. Whether Apple will allow this kind of game involving Dynamic Island remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that this is a very creative way to implement it.

Dynamic Island is a UI interaction designed by Apple to make up for the flaws of the perforated screen, thus cleverly avoiding the shortcomings of the screen panel itself and enhancing playability and fun as much as possible while improving the screen-to-body ratio.
