Elon Musk sends first email to Twitter employees, says telecommuting will end

Twitter’s new boss, Elon Musk, sent his first email to employees to prepare them for the “tough times ahead,” according to Bloomberg. Elon Musk said that remote work will no longer be allowed and that employees will have to spend at least 40 hours a week in the office unless there are exceptions that he personally agrees to.

Elon Musk previously intended to cancel the company’s current telecommuting policy, requiring the remaining employees to work at the company, but there are some people who may be exceptions. He also said that only “good contributors” should be allowed to work remotely or from home, and that too many people are addicted to the idea of remote work.

It’s worth noting that Elon Musk wrote in an email to Tesla employees, “Anyone who wants to work remotely must work at least 40 hours a week in the office or leave Tesla.”
