0

The evaluation agency DXOMARK recently announced the screen and audio results of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Let’s take a look.

The iPhone 15 screen scored 145 points, ranking 3rd in DXOMARK’s global high-end smartphone screen rankings and 15th overall. The iPhone 15 Plus screen score is 144 points, ranking 4th in DXOMARK’s global high-end smartphone screen rankings and 17th in the overall list.

It is noticed that since the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have little difference in screen and audio specifications, DXOMARK’s evaluation of the two models is basically the same.

iPhone 15/Plus screen:

Advantages: DXOMARK evaluates the screen brightness of this phone as good, with good legibility under most tested light conditions, and compared with the previous iPhone digital series, the colors of photos are more vivid; there is almost no frame loss in video playback appears, and motion blur is well optimized.

Disadvantages: The 60Hz screen refresh rate is slightly less smooth when sliding and playing games, and the mid-tone contrast in HDR10 videos is low, and the overall tone in photos and videos is orange, which affects color rendering and skin tone presentation to a certain extent.

iPhone 15 has an audio score of 141 points, ranking 5th in DXOMARK’s global high-end smartphone screen rankings and 15th overall. The iPhone 15 Plus audio score is the same as the iPhone 15.

iPhone 15/Plus audio:

Pros: In terms of playback, the device excels in multiple attributes, with good overall playback quality, deep extension of the low frequencies, and good dynamics and spatial performance. In terms of recording, the sound quality is good, especially when recording louder scenes such as concerts; sound artifacts are handled well, although wind noise control still needs some fine-tuning, but its performance is pretty good.

Disadvantages: When playing audio at maximum volume, the device has certain distortion and compression, and the stereo sound in the music application is inverted like all iPhone devices; when recording, the mid-frequency performance is greatly affected by the usage scenario, and may occur Canned or nasal sounds; the main vocal content is easily obscured by background noise, and audio focus performance is poor.

In addition, DXOMARK also announced that the iPhone 15 Plus has an imaging score of 145 points, ranking tied for 12th place with Apple iPhone 15 in the global imaging rankings, and ranking first in the high-end model category.

DXOMARK reviews iPhone 15 Plus When using the HDR screen to browse content shot by the device, the image contrast is vivid and the brightness performance is good; whether it is photo shooting or video recording, its exposure and color performance are particularly good. In portrait mode, the device can accurately estimate depth of field and retain details, and in bright environments, the color rendering and skin tone restoration of photos and videos also appear natural and comfortable.

The disadvantage is that the zoom capabilities of the iPhone 15 Plus still lag behind the Pro series models; in low-light environments, some details are missing and there is more noise in photos and videos.
