Dropbox announced that it is expanding support for Apple macOS 12.5 and higher, and all users will receive the update by April 2023.

Dropbox users who have not yet received support for macOS 12.5 are expected to receive the update between now and the end of May. Anyone interested in getting a sneak peek at the version of Dropbox that supports macOS 12.5 can now join the Beta.
Dropbox Basic, Plus, Professional and Family plan customers simply need to open an earlier version and watch for notifications to opt into the Beta, while Standard, Advanced, Enterprise and Education customers will need to contact their account team or customer support.
Dropbox added that it is also working directly with a small group of customers with complex configurations to ensure that their migration to the new system is as smooth as possible.
With the release of macOS Monterey 12.3 in March 2022, Apple abandoned the kernel extensions used by cloud storage services like Dropbox and OneDrive, making it impossible for users to open online-only files stored on Dropbox or OneDrive in third-party apps after the update.
Dropbox previously said it would begin rolling out an updated version of its Mac app to Beta testers in March 2022, then announced in August that a Beta public test version would be available in early Q4 2022. Development apparently took longer than expected, prompting complaints from some users.
