Dbrand brings “Nothing” style “Something” case to regular phones

After months of hype, the Nothing Phone 1 is finally here. After the product’s release, it’s easy to see that it’s a normal smartphone that focuses on value for money, but has a cool translucent back case that inspires other phone users: wouldn’t it be cool if you could have that look on a phone you already own?

That’s what accessory company Dbrand is trying to do, and they’ve managed to emulate the internal geometry and gray style of the Nothing Phone 1 back case to match, but can use them with specific iPhones, Pixels and other devices.

Adam Ijaz, CEO of Dbrand, says the main appeal of the Nothing phone is its aesthetics and that someone will want to cover it with a case or skin.” How can we profit from Nothing if we can’t cover the phone?” Dbrand doesn’t think there will be a lot of Nothing phones on the market, the brand is “untested” and “overhyped,” but people are clearly interested in its looks, Ijaz said via email.

There’s text printed in the small corners of this enlarged sticker image, and even the US recycling eco-label and EU CE certification icons, and the case even has an Easter egg in the form of the GPS coordinates printed on the back of the Something sticker: 34.47972001011N 113.3353001040W.

The Something series is now available in limited quantities, and its initial versions will include the iPhone 13 Pro Max, Pixel 6 Pro and Samsung S22 Ultra. you can get them with skin stickers for $24.95, or a full case for $49.90. Dbrand also has plans to release a Nintendo Switch version, and other devices will come on demand.

Dbrand is known for its sarcastic and sarcastic marketing approach, specializing in taking jabs at tech companies. Last year, it even received a copyright infringement warning letter from Sony for releasing a PS5 side panel replacement after Dbrand goaded them on its product page saying, “Go ahead, sue us.” Dbrand has since redesigned the board to avoid looking similar to the official one, and the product page is now titled.” Checkmate, Lawyers.”

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Nothing will sue Dbrand over something.
