ASRock Announced Z790 NOVA Motherboard that Supports Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs

According to foreign technology media VideoCardZ, ASRock stated in the press release of the Z790 Phantom Gaming NOVA motherboard that it is ready for higher power consumption CPUs.

ASRock mentioned “more power hungry future CPUs” in the press release, which is as follows:

ASRock launched a brand new PHANTOM GAMING series motherboard today, the high-end model is Z790 NOVA WiFi7. NOVA represents the dazzling light and energy of the explosion, which can bring players a surging gaming experience.

The new motherboard supports Wi-Fi 7 as well as 5Gbps LAN for the fastest internet connection possible, and supports future higher power CPUs.

ASRock confirmed that the Z790 NOVA motherboard adopts 20+1+1 SPS Dr.MOS power supply design.

The LGA 1700 socket supports Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake and 13th generation Raptor Lake CPUs, and the chances of Meteor Lake entering the desktop platform in the future are very small, so the “higher power consumption CPU” here should refer to Raptor Lake Refresh.

It was previously reported that Intel planned to provide DLVR (Digital Linear Voltage Regulator) for 13th generation processors, but then confirmed that it was disabled on the 13th generation / 700 series platform, so Raptor Lake Refresh is likely to be equipped with DLVR.

It is reported that Intel plans to launch Raptor Lake Refresh in the second half of this year, with a clock frequency of 6.2GHz-6.5GHz.
