According to Digitimes, Apple is crafting its first XR headset (possibly AR or MR). The supply chain sources revealed that the expanded reality (XR) device called N301 is determined to be exclusively assembled by PEGATRON and is expected to be mass-produced by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
XR that is, Extended Reality (Extended Reality), refers to the combination of real and virtual environments and human-computer interactive devices, is calculated using computer technology and wearable devices, where the X is the variable, and can be the present or future space computing technology.
It is worth mentioning that XR is actually an umbrella term that includes augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR). XR is divided into multiple layers, from virtual worlds with limited sensor input to fully immersive virtual worlds.
In addition, industry sources say that Apple has spared no expense in order to create its first AR headset, also requiring supply chain cooperation, even if the agency assembly also needs to use a semiconductor clean room production line to avoid dust fall affecting production.
