Apple updates Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps for iPad with support for Pencil hovering

0

Apple today updated the Pages, Numbers and Keynote office productivity applications for the iPad. The biggest improvement is the support for Apple Pencil hovering.

Apple officials said that users using the above applications on the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro can more easily navigate, write, draw sketches and illustrations, etc. by hovering.

The second-generation Apple Pencil on the latest iPad Pro models supports hovering up to 12 mm above the screen, allowing users to preview their drawings before drawing.

Another useful hover feature for users is to use the Doodle feature. On an iPad, if you want to convert your handwriting to text, use the Apple Pencil to hover over the screen and the text field will automatically expand.

It was previously reported that Apple Pencil gained tilt and azimuth support in iPadOS 16.4. Apple discussed the feature in a recent interview.
