Apple shuts down iOS 16.0.3 verification channel, no more downgrades from iOS 16.1

Apple has closed the verification channel for iOS 16.0.3 after the launch of iOS 16.1 on October 24. iOS 16.0.3 was launched on October 10. This also means that if users have iOS 16.1 installed, they will no longer be able to downgrade to iOS 16.0.3.

Apple typically turns off verification for older versions of iOS after a new version is released to encourage users to keep the operating system up to date.

iOS 16.0.3 is a smaller update that focuses on a few bug fixes for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.
The iOS 16.1, which replaces it, is a larger update that introduces iCloud shared photo libraries, real-time activity on the lock screen and Lingering Island, support for the Matter smart home standard, clean energy charging, and more.
