Apple today released the second public beta of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2, the first of which was released two weeks ago.

The iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 introduce the Infinity Notes app, which is officially described as a powerful efficiency app that lets users view, share, and collaborate in one place without worrying about layout or page size through a flexible canvas, while fully supporting the use of the Apple Pencil. Users can see others’ changes as they add content or make edits and enjoy real-time collaboration. Users can add any type of file – images, video, audio, PDFs, documents, web links and more – to the borderless canvas and preview it in real-time without leaving the whiteboard.

For iPad, this update brings external display support for front-of-the-counter scheduling multitasking, allowing up to eight apps to be used simultaneously. The external display support feature is available on M1 and M2 iPad models.

There is a new Home app architecture in iOS and iPadOS 16.2 that Apple says is designed to bring faster, more reliable performance, especially in homes with lots of smart home accessories.

Apple also today released the second public beta of macOS Ventura 13.1. macOS Ventura 13.1 also introduces the Infinity Note app.
