Apple Patent Approved: Mapping Body Data Based on CGR Technology

According to a list published by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a technology patent that describes an application based on computer-generated reality (CGR) technology to improve users’ Buying experience.

According to the patent description, Apple introduces a sales application for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro that uses CGR technology to generate a virtual image of the buyer and then shows the wearing effect of T-shirts, jerseys or other items.

The patent design sketch as follows. In CGR, users need to take photos and upload multiple photos, and then enter relevant data. The system will generate a virtual model close to the user to facilitate showing the user the effects of clothing and items on the body.

Apple patent Figure 2E above shows a graphical user interface (GUI) #260 that allows a user (#22) to search for wearable physical items based on a human body model (#270). In some implementations, the GUI allows a person to generate a body Model.
