Following Korean media The Elec, Ross Young, CEO of DSCC, a screen supply chain consulting company, said that Apple is developing a 13.4-inch MacBook Air equipped with an OLED panel.

In a paid tweet published today, Ross Yang stated that the existing OLED supply chain cannot meet Apple’s requirements and will focus on upgrading the use of OLED panels for tablets such as the iPad Pro in the next few years. Apple hopes to further optimize the supply chain in the next few years, and the MacBook Pro product line will upgrade OLED panels in 2026.

It is learned from Ross Yang’s tweet that Apple plans to launch MacBook Air with OLED displays and 11.1-inch / 13-inch iPad Pro models in 2024.

Compared to LCD models, Macs and iPads with OLED displays will have higher brightness, contrast, and use less power, resulting in longer battery life.
