He said that Apple likes to control such details in its own hands, so it has developed a Lightning & Type-C interface IC specifically for the Type C interface, which will be used in this year’s new iPhone and MFI certified products.
It is worth mentioning that the Type-C interface currently used in the iPad series does not require MFi certification to be used.
It can be seen from his remarks that Apple will indeed switch to the Type-C charging interface in the new products released this year, but this charging interface has been encrypted by Apple.
That is to say, in addition to the charging cable that may come with the purchase of the product, consumers who want to buy a new Apple data cable need to purchase it on Apple’s official website or an MFI-certified accessory manufacturer. At present, it is not yet known whether Apple’s dedicated Type-C charging interface can be used on other Android models, but the probability is that it supports the lowest charging power.
According to previous news, the iPhone 15 series will offer the same four screen sizes as the iPhone 14 series, which means that Apple will launch a 6.1-inch iPhone 15, a 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, a 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 15. inch iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple has previously applied USB-C interfaces on its Mac and iPad, and even Studio Display, Pro Display XDR, some Beats headphones and some other accessories have used USB-C. Add to that the EU’s proposed legislation requiring all smartphones and accessories to be charged using the USB-C port starting in the fall of 2024.
