In a tweet shared with Super Followers today, display analyst Ross Young said that Apple has not yet finalized the display size for its planned 2024 iPhone SE 4 and is considering a number of decisions related to display size and display materials.

Apple is reportedly considering 6.1-inch OLED displays from two suppliers, as well as 5.7 to 6.1-inch LCD screens from two suppliers. Given this information, it is unclear whether Apple will use a 5.7-inch display or a 6.1-inch display, and whether the display will use OLED technology or LCD technology.

The OLED display will be more expensive, and current iPhone SE models use LCD displays with thick bezels and Touch ID buttons. Apple’s flagship iPhone line has had an OLED display since the iPhone X. It’s possible that the price of OLED panels has dropped. It’s possible that the price of OLED panels has dropped enough for Apple to use them in the low-cost iPhone SE.

However, whether it’s a 5.7-inch display or a 6.1-inch display, Ross Young believes that Apple’s iPhone SE 4 will have a full-screen design with bangs, but it’s unclear whether Apple will introduce Face ID or stick with Touch ID, about which rumors vary.

As previously reported by tipster Jon Prosser said that Apple’s iPhone SE 4 will feature an almost identical design to the iPhone XR, and brought related renders to show.

Jon Prosser says that the Apple iPhone SE 4 will get the same design as the 2018 iPhone XR. This change makes sense given that the initial iPhone SE design was based on the 2013 iPhone 5s, while the iPhone SE 2/3 design was based on the 2017 iPhone 8.
