In its opening presentation at WWDC 2023, Apple announced a new SharePlay integration for CarPlay during the introduction of the iOS 17 segment, making it easy for other passengers in the car to share playlists.
Apple will introduce Collaborative Playlists in the Apple Music app, which will allow passengers to add their favorite songs to shared playlists and control music playback in the car’s center console directly from their devices.
Apple says this feature does not require an Apple Music subscription and will be available later this year via an update, but no official date has been announced for the launch.
