Android Automotive interface is exposed, 2023 Honda Accord will be the first to equip it

Honda announced last September that it would be equipped with Android Automotive, and now the company has announced that the first car equipped with the system will be the 2023 Accord. The 2023 Accord will go on sale in the United States next month, and Android Automotive will be included as a standard model.

The 2023 Accord has a 12.3-inch center console built into it, which Honda claims is its brand’s largest touchscreen, with a column of virtual buttons on the left for home, back, assistant, maps, FM radio, and smartphone mirroring (supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay).

And Honda put various status bar icons in the upper right corner. The center console supports “Hey Google” voice control, and the owner can ask: “How far can I drive?” (How long can I drive my car?), The answer is: “Your car should be able to drive another 7 miles.”

With Google Assistant, users can get work done while keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel. Talk to Google, easily call or text a friend, set a reminder, or even change the temperature in your car. Users can also navigate to their next destination or find nearby content.
