AMD today released the Ryzen Embedded 5000 series processors for network customers, using the proven Zen 3 architecture and up to 16-core CPUs.

According to AMD, “The Ryzen Embedded 5000 processors deliver the ideal combination of performance and reliability required for 24×7 security and networking applications. This expansion of our embedded portfolio provides a mid-range solution that fills the low-end. The gap between the Ryzen Embedded and EPYC Embedded families of power BGAs for customers requiring high performance and scalability up to 16 cores.”

The AMD Ryzen Embedded 5000 processor is built on a 7nm process node, provides “five-year manufacturing availability”, has 6/8/12/16 core versions, and supports up to 24 PCIe 4.0 lanes (with the AMD X570 chipset, the I / O expands to 36 channels). AMD Ryzen Embedded 5000 processors also include an ECC-enabled memory subsystem and TDP configurations from 65W to 105W.
