AMD RX 7900 non-public model has higher performance, GPU frequency can reach 3GHz

According to TechPowerUp news, AMD’s newly released RX 7900 series graphics cards are equipped with Navi31 GPUs with a frequency of up to 3GHz. AMD seems to be pursuing a balance between performance and power consumption. The public version of the graphics card uses dual 8pin power supplies, which limits the power of the graphics card.

At present, only ASUS has released an RX 7900 TUF graphics card, which adopts a heat dissipation design close to 4 slots thick and is equipped with three 8pin power supplies. It is expected to unlock more performance than the public model.

The RX 7900 XTX public version has 96CU, 6144 stream processors, GPU frequency 1900-2500MHz, and graphics card power consumption of 355W, which is much lower than the 450W of RTX 4090. The RX 7900 XTX reference version is 287 mm long and 2.5 slots thick, which is much smaller than Nvidia’s flagship model. In contrast, ASUS’s RX 7900 TUF’s cooling specifications are much better than the public version, and it is expected to be overclocked from the factory.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards are expected to be officially available on AMD.com website from December 13, 2022, and from mid-December by leading partners including ASRock, ASUS, GIGABYTE and MSI. The e-commerce suggested retail price of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is RMB 7,999, while the e-commerce suggested retail price of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is RMB 7,399.
