AMD’s newly released RX 7000 graphics card has been upgraded on the media engine, and the latest official RDNA 3 media engine already supports AV1 hardware encoding.

AMD claims that support for AV1 hardware encoding, powered by the new AMD RDNA 3 media engine, delivers up to 7x faster video encoding at 8K than software-only solutions, while integrating Xilinx content-adaptive machine learning Technology that improves text quality at lower resolutions and lower bitrates.

Additionally, AMD announced a partnership with OBS to improve video streaming quality on AMD Radeon RX 6000 and Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards.

AMD has announced that next year’s new generation of mobile APUs will use RNDA3 core graphics, which means that the new generation of mobile processors will also gain the capabilities of the RDNA 3 media engine.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards are expected to be officially available on AMD.com website from December 13, 2022, and from mid-December by leading partners including ASRock, ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, Shaxun, Sapphire, Hankai, Xunjing and Yeston are on sale. The e-commerce suggested retail price of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is RMB 7,999, while the e-commerce suggested retail price of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is RMB 7,399.
