AMD’s upcoming flagship processor with a large cache, the R9 7950X3D, is now available on Geekbench.

Geekbench, the scoring software, does not seem to reflect the advantages of the R9 7950X3D’s large cache, and the cache size is not identified correctly. The score shows that the R9 7950X3D single-core score is similar to the R9 7950X, while the multi-core score is not as good as the R9 7950X.

For comparison, the now available R9 7950X also has 16 cores, accelerates up to 5.7GHz, has 128MB of tertiary cache (64MB+64MB 3D V-Cache), and has a default TDP of 120W.

On the Geekbench platform, the R9 7950X, with its higher default power consumption, scores higher. However, in some cache-sensitive games and applications, the R9 7950X3D will undoubtedly perform better.

The R9 7950X3D will be available on February 28th for $699 (currently about RMB 4788).
