Since Intel announced its financial report for the fourth quarter and full year of 2022 on the 27th, its stock price has fallen for several consecutive days, and it is currently down nearly 10%.

In contrast, although AMD’s stock price has also fallen, the range is very small. Therefore, AMD’s market capitalization has once again surpassed that of Intel.

In fact, AMD’s market capitalization has crossed that of Intel several times in recent years. For example, on July 29, 2022, AMD’s market cap was approximately $153.737 billion, while Intel’s was approximately $148.461 billion.

As of press time, Intel is currently quoting $27.95 per share, with a current market value of approximately $115.350 billion. AMD is currently quoted at $72.45 per share, with a market value of approximately $116.815 billion.

Intel announced its fourth-quarter and full-year results for 2022 in the early hours of the 27th Beijing time. The fourth-quarter results failed to meet market expectations, with a sharp drop of 32%. The lowest quarterly revenue since 2016.

Meanwhile, Intel gave pessimistic guidance for market performance in the first quarter. The company expects adjusted revenue in the first quarter to be between US$10.5 billion and US$11.5 billion, significantly lower than market expectations of US$14 billion; it expects an adjusted gross profit margin of 39% in the first quarter, compared with expectations of 45.5%.

Affected by this, Intel’s stock price plummeted the next day before the market. It even fell to $27.05 per share at one point, with a maximum drop of 10.10%.
