Airbus may delay the delivery of some aircraft in 2023

Airbus is preparing for further delays in the delivery of some of its medium-range aircraft in 2023, three industry sources said, according to Reuters. The company is working to meet its 2022 delivery target despite supply chain and labor issues.

The sources added that the slowdown was taken because of continued uncertainty about the availability of engines and other parts and labor needed to produce the new aircraft.

A spokeswoman for Airbus said the company would not comment on deliveries until its next monthly announcement in early December.

Analysts point out that the aerospace industry is grappling with a series of simultaneous problems that have multiple ripple effects.

In July, Airbus said it would meet an interim production target of 65 A320-series narrow-body jets per month by early 2024, rather than by summer 2023. the target for 2025 is 75 per month.
