Activated iPhone 14 Pro Dynamic Island status will be visible in screenshot and recording mode

As the iPhone 14 Pro debut reviews continue to arrive, we’re hearing some interesting details about the newly introduced “Dynamic Island”. As an alternative to the bangs cutout, Dynamic Island is designed to better disguise the pill-shaped cutout on the iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max screen. The “Dynamic Island” can also take on different shapes and sizes depending on the usage scenario such as incoming calls, alerts, notifications, Face ID authentication, timers, and more.

Apple is also planning to open up integration with the Live Activity live activity widget to third-party apps starting later this year.

But more interestingly, the shape of Dynamic Island will also be visible in screenshot/recording mode on the iPhone 14 Pro line of smartphones when it is invoked by an app, or when the camera/microphone status indicator is active.

In the case of screenshots, the entire Dynamic Island, and any elements attached to it (such as the circular timer icon), will be recorded by iOS 16.

The reason for this is understandable, since when Dynamic Island is invoked, its screenshot may also contain valuable information.

On the other hand, when Dynamic Island is completely inactive, it won’t appear in the screenshot — consistent with the behavior of screenshots on iPhones with the bangs slots.
