ZTE’s net income for FY2022 was NT$8.08 billion, up 18.6% year-over-year

ZTE Corporation today released its 2022 annual results report. During the reporting period, the company achieved operating revenue of 122.95 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4% year-on-year; net profit attributable to the mother company of 8.08 billion yuan, an increase of 18.6% year-on-year; net profit attributable to the mother company of 6.17 billion yuan, an increase of 86.5% year-on-year.

In 2022, ZTE Corporation achieved year-over-year growth in revenue in both domestic and international markets, and in the three business segments of carrier networks, government and enterprise, and consumers.

The domestic market achieved revenue of RMB85.24 billion, accounting for 69.3% of the overall revenue, while the international market achieved revenue of RMB37.71 billion, accounting for 30.7% of the overall revenue.

For carrier networks, revenue was RMB 80.04 billion, up 5.7% year-on-year. In 2022, ZTE ranked second in the world in 5G base stations, 5G core networks and 200G ports for optical transmission, and second in the world in PON OLT revenue, according to the latest reports from external organizations.

The government and enterprise business achieved revenue of 14.63 billion yuan, up 11.8 percent year-on-year. ZTE’s core products, such as servers and storage, GoldenDB distributed database, and cloud computers, achieved rapid uptake in headquarter customers in the financial, Internet, and government industries.

In 2022, ZTE, Nubia, and Red Magic launched a variety of models to cover different market needs; mobile Internet products 5G MBB & FWA shipment volume continued to maintain the first in the world; home information terminals achieved leapfrog growth, PON CPE and DSL CPE shipment volume ranked first in the world, and set-top box market share continued to lead. The market share of set-top boxes continues to lead.

In addition, in 2022, ZTE Corporation will rapidly expand its second curve business, which is represented by servers and storage, 5G industry applications, automotive electronics, terminals, and digital energy. During the reporting period, the second curve of innovative businesses maintained rapid growth, with operating revenue increasing by more than 40% year-on-year, of which, server and storage operating revenue was nearly 10 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 80% year-on-year.

The announcement that ZTE Corporation 2022 annual R&D investment reached 21.60 billion yuan, accounting for 17.6% of operating revenue.
