Xpeng Motors announced on its official Weibo today that its pure electric mid-size sedan P7 (including P7i) and pure electric mid-to-large SUV model G9 both “topped the best-selling list.”

In detail, the G9 achieved the “No. 1 sales of medium and large pure electric SUVs” for four consecutive weeks from October 9 to November 5, with cumulative sales reaching 4,593 units during this period; the Xpeng P7 model that month With a sales volume of 4,250 units, it won the first place in sales of “250,000-350,000-class pure electric mid-size sedans”.

At the same time, Xpeng Motors also listed the sales data of competing products with similar positioning to the P7: NIO ET5T sold 3,105 units that month, and Tesla Model 3 sold 2,273 units that month.

As for the Xpeng G9, officials said that its 2024 model sales increased by about 400% month-on-month within one month of its launch, and its high-end intelligent driving penetration rate reached 80%, claiming to be “stablely ranked first in the industry.”

According to previous reports, on the 6th of this month, Xpeng P7i added a new model “550 Edition”, with the starting price further reduced to 223,900 RMB.

However, recently, a large number of P7 owners have publicly sent a joint letter to Xpeng Motors CEO He Xiaopeng, reflecting that the officially promoted XPILOT autonomous driving assistance system cannot be fulfilled and that there are many problems with the vehicle system.

The joint letter stated that the official had promoted that the Xpeng P7 Exclusive Edition model would be equipped with the XPILOT3.0 automatic driving assistance system as standard. The optional price for other models is 36,000 RMB and will be upgraded to the XPILOT4.0 automatic driving assistance system in the future. However, as of the date of the letter, Xpeng officials still have not mentioned when to upgrade XPILOT 4.0.

The owners of the Xpeng P7 also mentioned in the joint letter that Xpeng’s “AEB emergency braking function is just a fake”. This has also been a hotly discussed topic in the automotive industry recently, and has also triggered an exchange of words between He Xiaopeng and Huawei’s Yu Chengdong. , but this incident came to an end temporarily with He Xiaopeng’s compromise.
