Xiaomi is gearing up to release its latest Redmi A series of smartphones. Last month, the Redmi A1 was launched, running Android and delivering an entry-level smartphone experience. Now, Xiaomi is about to release another smartphone in its A-series, the Redmi A1 Plus.

The Redmi A1 Plus India launch event will take place on October 14. Notably, the phone is already available in Kenya. A report from MySmartPrice suggests that the Indian version of the Redmi A1 Plus phone may have the same specs as the Kenyan version.

Redmi A1 Plus India’s price may be lower than 10,000 Indian rupees (about 873 CNY). The Redmi A1 is priced at 6499 Indian rupees (about 567 CNY). The most obvious difference between the Redmi A1 and A1 Plus is the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Plus model.
