Xiaomi has launched a high-end variant of the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet, which will be formally called as “Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro.” It brings some noticeable upgrades under the hood, such as an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, 50-megapixels triple rear cameras, new colour variants and much more.  The tablet also brings some nifty features, such as ‘Top centre’ that will avoid eye shifts in a video call.

Starting from one of the main selling factors of a tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro offers a 12.4-inch IPS LCD display with 2.5K pixel resolution and 120Hz high refresh rate support. The brand has further provided the support of DCI-P3 colour gamut, HDR10, and Dolby Vision for a greater content consumption experience. The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard internal storage.

Coming down to the cameras, the device will have a triple camera at the back with 50-megapixels primary camera, 2-megapixels secondary depth sensing lens and 2-megapixels tertiary macro camera. On the front, we have a 20-megapixel selfie snapper for video calls and meets. The device packs a whopping 10,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast wired charging support. The tablet with boot up on MIUI 13 is based on Android 12 right out of the box.

Finally, let’s talk about the price and variants of the device. It comes in three different variants; 6GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. It has been priced in China at CNY 2,799 (~$415), CNY 3,299 (~$489) and CNY 3,999 (~$593) respectively. The device will be soon available to purchase in the country. As of now, we don’t have an official word on the global availability of the device.
