The Xiaomi CIVI 2 smartphone was recently released in the Chinese market. It was released exclusively in China. The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G was announced in Q4 of 2022, and the release date of its successor is getting closer and closer. You may be wondering why we are including Xiaomi 11 Lite and Xiaomi CIVI device information in a single post! To find out, continue reading till the end.

Xiaomi CIVI 2 will launch in global market but with different name!

According to a Chinese source, the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE was encountered in an IMEI database, revealing its existence as well as its model number, 2210129SG. The “G” at the end indicates that this is a device for the global market, not the Chinese market.

And that makes perfect sense when you realise that it is rumoured to be a renamed Civi 2. That phone is currently available in China, so it stands to reason that the rebranded model will only be available elsewhere. Surprisingly, the 2210129SG was already certified by the FCC in September, suggesting that its release may be closer than you think. According to the FCC procedure, the 12 Lite 5G NE will be available in three configurations: 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, 8GB of RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB of RAM with 256GB storage.

When compared to the original 12 Lite, the Xiaomi Civi 2 sports a different processor – the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which should outperform the Snapdragon 778G. It also has a different main camera, with 50 MP resolution rather than 108 MP, and a 20 MP ultrawide sensor rather than the 8 MP sensor found on the current Lite. While the selfie camera appears to be the same, the Civi 2 has an extra ultrawide sensor and a dual-LED flash. The battery is somewhat larger as well, with 4,500 mAh vs 4,300 mAh, although all other specifications are, if not identical, then extremely similar.
