The Xiaomi 12S Ultra flagship phone goes on sale in July 2022, the first high-end flagship from Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica. After about six months, Xiaomi Wang Teng and Lei Jun said the machine has entered the closing stages of its life cycle.

Last month, Xiaomi also unveiled the new Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, while news of the much-anticipated Xiaomi 13 Ultra has been long overdue. But if nothing else, the next generation of imaging flagships will arrive in the first half of this year, along with the next generation of Xiaomi tablets.

Digital blogger @DigitalChat has revealed today that Xiaomi’s new video flagship is codenamed “Ishtar” and has a model number 2304FPN6DC on file.

The Babylonian goddess of nature and harvest – Ishtar, who is also the goddess of love, fertility and war, and sometimes the symbol of Venus.

From the information given by @DigitalChat, another tablet for the record is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ chip, codenamed liuqin, and is expected to be the Xiaomi Mi Tablet 6 Pro.

From previous revelations, the main highlight of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra (or Xiaomi 13S Ultra) will be Leica optics, and just like the other Xiaomi 13 models, this new model will probably also feature a 1-inch IMX989 outsider sensor, but with some improvements over the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

Other details of the phone are still under wraps, so he couldn’t reveal much more, but it’s expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen2, 2K screen and other hardware that comes standard on flagships.

In addition, Xiaomi is said to be working on a successor to the Xiaomi Tablet 5, including the Xiaomi Tablet 6 and 6 Pro, codenamed pipa and liuqin, which are expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 8+ chips.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro may also feature a 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1880 x 2880 pixels, possibly with quad speakers and a dual rear camera layout, although the Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro, model number M81, will only be available in China.

According to the rumours, Xiaomi will be unveiling it at MWC 2023 next month at the earliest, so stay tuned.
