The recent Xiaomi 12S series officially released, including Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro and Xiaomi 12S Ultra three phones, the whole series equipped with Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 chip, more Leica professional optical lens, Leica native dual image quality, etc.. The Xiaomi 12S series is now fully available, and the next generation of Xiaomi 13 series phones are already popping up.
According to Weibo blogger @Digital Gossip Station, Xiaomi digital series are currently equipped with SM8550 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2), Redmi brand mainstay K series is also testing Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, while also planning MediaTek Tiangui flagship chip, using dual flagship platform strategy, high end version of the phone equipped with 2K screen.
Previously reported that the Xiaomi 13 series will use 2K + 120Hz ultra-narrow bezel flexible curved screen. According to the news, the Xiaomi 13 series is expected to be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips, and will see the new models unveiled in November at the earliest, with multiple models available in December.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and will be OEM’d by TSMC, but will probably still use the 4nm process and will debut in the fourth quarter of this year. MediaTek will also release an iteration of the Tiangui 9000/8000 chip, which will also use TSMC’s 4nm process.
