Xbox players complain about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Cross-platform play can’t be disabled

0

On October 29th news, “Call of Duty 19: Modern Warfare 2” yesterday officially launched on all platforms, landing PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and XSX / S platforms, SteamDB data shows that the game’s Steam’s highest online player count reached a record 238,522 people.

However, the game was panned by Xbox console players because they could not disable the cross-platform play feature. Cross-platform gaming was introduced to the Call of Duty franchise a few years ago, allowing PC, PlayStation and Xbox players to play online across platforms. Some people like the cross-platform gaming feature because it allows them to play with their friends regardless of what gaming platform they are using, but there are others who don’t like the feature and would rather have it disabled.

There are many arguments against cross-platform gaming, such as the fact that PC players can use the mouse and keyboard in games, while console players can only use the joystick. In addition, plug-in behavior is much more prevalent on PC platforms than on consoles, so cross-platform gaming has the potential to make console players encounter more plug-ins, and some people disable the feature as a result. PS4 and PS5 players can currently turn off the cross-platform play feature of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at any time, but PC and Xbox consoles do not currently support disabling the feature, so some Xbox players are very upset about it.

It is unclear why Xbox players are not currently allowed to disable cross-platform play for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and whether this feature will be added in the future.
