X Forcibly Takes Away User’s 16-Year-Old @music Account

X platform (formerly known as Twitter) in recent days again sparked controversy, the platform on Friday without warning took away the user Jeremy Vaught operating 16 years of @music account and turned it over to the official music account, which was formerly @twittermusic. Vaught in his personal account said, “Very angry.”

Vaught created the @music account in 2007 and has been running it ever since. After taking the account away, X assigned Vaught a new handle, @musicfan, and notified him of the decision via email. The email stated that the account was taken back for the company’s needs.

This is the second time the X platform has forcibly taken away a user’s account. Last month, the platform reclaimed the @X account from a user to coincide with a renaming of the platform by its owner, Elon Musk. Musk bought Twitter last year and renamed it, X, in July, a change that was part of a sweeping rebranding of the platform as its ad revenue continued to decline.

The X platform has been criticized and upset by many users. Some see it as a violation and disrespect of users’ rights. Others have questioned whether Platform X will continue to reclaim other users’ accounts to suit its own or Musk’s interests.
