The first major update to Windows 11, “22H2”, was officially released on September 20 and provides a variety of enhancements to key features in the OS, such as bringing folder support to the Start menu and allowing users to resize pinned icons.

Win11 22H2 also enabled support for “drag and drop” on the taskbar, allowing users to easily drag and drop files to applications through the taskbar. Other features include tab support in File Explorer, a new sidebar in File Explorer, actionable suggestions, a new layout for the snapping window, deep integration of Microsoft accounts in Settings, and more.

Windows 11 22H2 also has an interesting hidden feature that allows you to directly adjust the system volume using the mouse wheel. While it’s already possible to use a mouse to adjust the volume if it supports media mode, this new feature in Windows 11 22H2 allows users to use the scroll wheel of any mouse to control the computer’s volume.

As shown in the figure above, the user can place the mouse pointer on the volume icon on the taskbar, and then directly scroll the mouse wheel to change the system volume.
