In its official entry into the Chinese smartphone market, the French smartphone maker launches the Wiko 5G device. This device is so similar to the Huawei Nova 9 SE but fixes an important area giving concerns to most people. That area is the lack of 5G connectivity on the Nova 9 series as a result of sanctions from the United States.

The new Wiko 5G comes with support for 5G connections and replaces Android with Huawei’s in-house software. So far the best feature of this device is the fact that it runs HarmonyOS bringing the software’s iconic cross-collaboration features to more customers. But Wiko doesn’t leave things just at software capabilities, as the French company adds more amazing features to this new device.

Specifications of this device include a 6.78-inch LCD screen which supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The new Wiko 5G comes is powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC, which is 5G-enabled. Joining this processor is up to 8GB RAM capacity and 256GB storage capacity.

For its camera abilities, this device uses a quad rear camera setup housing a 108MP main camera sensor. On the front lies a 16MP selfie camera that lies in the centre screen cutout. The design and specifications of this device are very similar to the Huawei Nova 9 SE.

As for its software, the Wiko 5G runs HarmonyOS out of the box and fits into the ever-growing Huawei ecosystem. The smartphone uses a 4000mAh battery capacity and supports 66W fast charging just like the Nova 9 SE from Huawei. For the retail price, this new device from the French smartphone company starts at Yuan 1999 (~$287) and is available for sale in China.
