In the track of Wi-Fi 7, naturally, Intel’s shadow can not be missing. Although there is news that Intel is considering to facilitate to carry MediaTek’s Wi-Fi solution on Core notebooks, it does not mean that they are going to wash their hands in gold. In a recent media event, Intel wireless solutions vice president Eric McLaughlin, Intel is developing Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) chip in order to get the Alliance certification as soon as possible. He expects that the chips will be installed in notebooks and other PC products in 2024 and become mainstream in 2025.

According to McLaughlin, the initial design rate of Wi-Fi 7 is doubled, but it’s still early and the potential available for mining is not small.

In fact, the theoretical peak rate of Wi-Fi 6 is 10Gbps. The Wi-Fi 7 solutions that have been announced today (including Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek, etc.) have generally exceeded 30Gbps, and Intel’s side will certainly not be left behind eventually.

The Wi-Fi 7 technology previewed by Intel is no different, as a replacement for Wi-Fi 6, with new support for 4096-QAM modulation, 320MHz bandwidth, MRU/MLO and other cutting-edge technologies.
