WhatsApp is developing ‘Chat Lock’ feature to create custom passwords

0

According to wabetainfo, WhatsApp launched the “Chat Lock” feature in May this year, which allows users to lock certain chats in a secure folder that only they can access. Now, WhatsApp is working on a new ‘passcode’ feature that will add another layer of security to users’ locked chats. This feature is currently in testing and is not yet available to beta testers.

As shown in the figure, users can use this function to create a custom password for locked chats. Enter the password to find the locked chat history in the search bar of the App. It supports the use of words or emoticons as passwords.

It is noticed that WhatsApp already provides three lock functions: fingerprint, face unlock and PIN code. Chat lock can hide personal chats and ensure their security. Custom passwords will not only add another layer of security, but also help users fast Search.
