Volvo Cars announced that it has officially started delivery of its first pure electric MPV, the Volvo EM90. The car will be launched on November 12, 2023, priced at 818,000 RMB. On February 6, 2024, the first production car of Volvo EM90 officially rolled off the assembly line. As the Volvo brand’s first pure electric MPV, the EM90 is equipped with a 116kW battery and a CLTC comprehensive cruising range of 738km.

The EM90 is a large-space travel car specially built for the pure electric vehicle market. It is built on the SEA vast platform and positioned as a pure electric medium and large MPV model. According to officials, the design of EM90 is inspired by the Scandinavian living room style and aims to provide users with a comfortable, safe, and smart mobile living space.

The length, width and height of the car are 5206/2024/1859 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3205 mm. It adopts a high-strength cage body design and the sides are very similar to Ji Krypton 009.

As a six-seater MPV model, the EM90’s second-row seats have a seven-layer structure and zero-gravity cushions with a thickness of more than 120mm. They provide massage, ventilation, heating, and built-in tray tables and cup holders. In addition, the car also uses birch wood decoration in many places inside the car.

EM90 is also equipped with the “World Tree” intelligent safety system, which integrates a variety of driving assistance functions, such as high-definition cameras, panoramic cameras, millimeter-wave radar and ultrasonic sensors. EM90 is also equipped with a high-efficiency air conditioning filter and active air purification technology, which can remove up to 95% of PM2.5 particles and ensure the air quality in the car. The EM90 is also equipped with a 21-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, including speakers built into the seat headrests, with a total power of 2460 watts, providing high-fidelity 3D audio.

In terms of power, the new car uses pure electric drive, equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 200kW, and is equipped with a ternary lithium-ion battery pack. Top speed reaches 180 km/h.
