Volkswagen: Will launch 11 new electric models by 2027

Volkswagen announced during the recent 2024 annual press conference that the company will launch 11 new electric models by 2027, including two models VW / Xpeng 1 jointly built with Xpeng Motors Together with VW/Xpeng 2, these two models are expected to be officially launched in 2026.

In addition, Volkswagen will release a new pure electric entry-level model ID.1 next year, which will be officially launched in 2027. The ID.2 model will also be released next year and will be available in 2026.

Official pictures show that the product lineup includes ID.BUZZ LWB, ID.7, ID.7 Tourer, ID.GTI Concept, ID.2ALL, and ID.2 ALL SUV models, entry-level models E-Volkswagen, and ID.4 PA, A-Main SUVe and many other products.

According to previous reports, Volkswagen’s full-year sales revenue in 2023 will reach 322.3 billion euros (currently approximately 2.53 trillion RMB), operating profit will reach 22.6 billion euros (currently approximately 177.41 billion RMB), and after-tax profits will reach 17.9 billion Euro (currently approximately RMB 140.515 billion), the operating profit margin excluding special items was 7.0%.

In absolute numbers, the Volkswagen Group delivered a total of 771,100 fully electric vehicles in 2023, an increase of 35% compared to 2022.

The company also said that 2023 is a year of restructuring and the continued implementation of the TOP-10 plan; more than 30 new products will be launched this year, such as the electric Porsche Macan and ID.7 sedan.

The head of Volkswagen said that China is currently the most competitive and fastest-paced automobile market in the world, and has set a goal of occupying 26% of the electric vehicle market share in China by 2026.
