Volkswagen Group delivers 141,000 all-electric vehicles in Q1 2023, up 42% year-over-year

According to foreign media reports, Volkswagen Group reported that in the first quarter of 2023, the company delivered 141,000 pure electric vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 42%, accounting for 6.9% of the company’s total deliveries, while The proportion in the same period last year was 5.2%.

From a regional perspective, the company delivered about 70% of its pure electric vehicles in Europe, or 98,300 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 68.1%. China, the company’s second-largest pure electric vehicle market, delivered 21,500 vehicles, down 25.4% year-on-year. In the U.S., the company delivered 15,700 all-electric vehicles, nearly double the number from the same period last year.

From the brand point of view, in the first quarter of 2023, the Volkswagen Passenger Car brand delivered 70,000 pure electric vehicles worldwide, accounting for about half of the total delivery of pure electric vehicles of the Volkswagen Group. Audi came in second with 34,600 deliveries. It was followed by Skoda (12,400), Seat/CUPRA (9,200), Porsche (9,200) and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (5,500).

In terms of best-selling models, in the first quarter of this year, the three best-selling pure electric vehicles of the Volkswagen Group were ID.4 / ID.5, ID.3 and Audi Q4 e-tron (including Sportback).
