Volga Automobile Plant plans to begin mass production of e-Largus electric vehicles in 2024

According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, the famous Russian automobile manufacturer Volga Automobile Works demonstrated the first prototype of the Lada e-Largus electric vehicle at its factory in Izhevsk, and revealed that this new car will be mass-produced in 2023.

Volume production of the e-Largus electric car will begin in 2024, and the first trial batch of the Lada E-Largus will be produced by the end of 2023, Volga Automobile President Maxim Sokolov said.

The e-Largus is said to be the most localized electric car in Russia, unlike all the projects of other Russian manufacturers involved in the assembly of the recently introduced foreign model SKD.

He said: “I can’t tell you the price, but I can be sure that it will be very competitive. First, this car is domestically produced, and second, we want the highest level of national support. Therefore, currently considering 2024 It is too early to announce the pricing, but our goal is to make it the cheapest domestic electric car.”

According to reports, Lada e-Largus will produce both passenger cars and commercial trucks. The company also clarified that the e-Largus electric vehicle prototype has now begun road and laboratory cycle testing and that both new vehicles are equipped with a 110 kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor.
