USDA under investigation over Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company Neuralink

0

It was reported that Neuralink, the brain-computer interface company created by Elon Musk, was in trouble again. Some research institutions in the United States violated laws and regulations before, and the United States Department of Agriculture did not take action. Neuralink is also under the supervision of the Department of Agriculture.

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG), which earlier launched an investigation into Neuralink’s animal testing program, is now reviewing the USDA.

Neuralink develops brain implant technology, which may violate animal rights, and it was reported earlier this month that the OIG was investigating Neuralink. At the time, federal prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California called for an investigation into Neuralink.

OIG, an agency of the USDA, has inspected Neuralink facilities eight times in the past three years. Given the potential for Neuralink to harm animal rights, federal investigators found it reasonable to evaluate the Department of Agriculture’s inspection of Neuralink.

The USDA has been criticized by the OIG for years, and now the federal investigators’ request to review the USDA has the OIG’s support, of course.

Elon Musk has been involved in the infinite vortex, and the company he manages has become the target of investigations by multiple departments of the US government.
