Urbanista Launches Solar Powered True Wireless Headphones Phoenix

0

After introducing the Los Angeles Solar Over-Ear headphones last year, Urbanista today introduces Phoenix, a true wireless headset (TWS) that uses Exeger’s Powerfoyle solar panel to extend battery life with the sun’s energy.

But unlike the Los Angeles Over-Ear headphones, which have a built-in solar panel, the Phoenix earbuds themselves do not include a solar panel. Instead, they are built into the Phoenix charging case.

Considering the small size of the earbuds, the decision to move the solar charging technology to the charging case makes sense. Consumers will have to leave the charging case in the sunlight to charge, though. For example, when you’re listening to music outdoors, you need to put the charging case in a sunny spot, but tech outlet The Verge also says most people are used to putting the case in their pockets when listening to music.

In addition to solar charging, the headphones support IPX4 waterproofing (which should mean they can handle sweat but not heavy rain), Bluetooth 5.2 support and a USB-C charging port to replenish power. The Phoenix earbuds support active noise cancellation, have a pass-through mode to hear the world around you, and the option to connect two devices at once (which helps to take calls over the phone without forgetting to connect your laptop). Available color options include black and pink.
