The British antitrust regulator opened an investigation into Microsoft’s 69 billion U.S. dollars (currently about RMB 494.04 billion) acquisition of game developer Activision Blizzard deal on Monday, local time, and solicited comments, and plans to make a final decision before 29 August.

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) also published Microsoft’s arguments on Monday, explaining why the deal should be reassessed, and the CMA said in a statement that anyone wishing to comment on Microsoft’s takeover should submit their views by 4 August.

In its submission, Microsoft set out its commitment that Activision Blizzard Games could offer cloud gaming services for ten years after the merger and highlighted agreements with Sony, Nvidia, Boosteroid and Ubitus that it believes should allay the CMA’s concerns.
