Bad Brain Games said that the work will be made with Unreal Engine 5, and it is an open-world game that can be played across platforms. It’s inspired by 1980s American movies and will mix adventure and horror elements.

The studio is led by “Watch Dogs: Legion” and “Hurricane: San Francisco” producer Sean Crooks and NetEase said they have recruited a team of veteran developers who have worked on the “Watch Dogs” trilogy, Games like Far Cry 2, Cyclone: San Francisco, Child of Light, Just Dance, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and Heroes.

Note: Bad Brain Games has nothing to do with Netease Montreal Studio, which was established in 2019 and recently hired Jonathan Morin, the creative director of the first two “Watch Dogs” games. , NetEase also acquired Quantic Dream, the developer of Heavy Rain. Earlier in 2021, NetEase acquired Grassshopper Manufacture, the developer of No More Heroes. In addition, NetEase also owns Nagoshi Studio, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yakuza creator Nagoshi Nagoshi, which focuses on developing high-end games.
